Saikia demand judicial probe into Tinsukia killings
Guwahati, November 6: Senior Congress leader and leader of the Opposition in the Assam Legislative Assembly, Debabrata Saikia demanded a judicial enquiry into the Tinsukia killings.
Saikia visited Dhola on Monday to offer his condolences to the families of the victims.
“A judicial enquiry is must to probe the barbaric incident of cold-blooded killings of innocent civilians,” said Saikia.
Saikia also accused the Assam Government to be “biased”.
“While the two pro-talks ULFA leaders have been arrested but no actions have been taken against BJP leaders Union Minister Rajen Gohain and MLA Shiladitya Dev for their inflammatory comments,” added Saikia.
The Congress leader further maintained that the state government should take preventive measures to protect the lives and property of all sections of people in Assam.
