Saikia claimed that Sarbananda Sonowal’s promise of zero corruption, zero pollution, zero illegal migrants etc was just a slogan and nothing else. He said that the Chief Minister does not want to take any actual action against corruption because many BJP leaders are involved in various syndicates. Saikia mentioned that he has written many times to the CM’s Vigilance Cell about illegal activities, but no action has been taken.

He cited the example of a letter sent to the CMO recently during the Vigilance Week in which he exposed the activities of sand, coal and stone syndicates in Bihubor, but let alone any action being taken, not even a reply has been forthcoming.
